Sara and Gabe

“I am so thankful to have gotten to have Sarah on my birth team! This was my first baby and I wanted to do an unmedicated birth but knew I would need extra support, especially being in a hospital setting. Sarah was absolutely wonderful before, throughout, and after delivery. She went over our entire birth wishes with us and helped us write them out for the hospital as well as bring up new scenarios and items we missed. She always a phone call/text away before labor even started. Once labor began she was available for me right away, although I was able to labor at home for quite some time with the help of my husband and sister in law. I was pretty nervous about arriving to the hospital and how I would handle that in active labor, so it was wonderful that Sarah met us there and right away began setting the room with lights, massaging my legs and just being an advocate between us and the nurses. I labored in the tub a lot of the time, and she was in and out just seeing what I needed, bringing drinks, checking in and also being support for my husband as well. You forget that your labor partner also needs help and support as well. Once transition hit Sarah helped me soo much with my breath, relaxation, essential oils and the fan. She brought the technical side of things to my birth team, providing combs to hold and offering different positions etc. After about 45 minutes of pushing, my baby boy was born and she stayed with us until we went over to postpartum. I enjoyed Sarah’s presence, advice, advocacy and just nurturing so much and really believe every birthing woman deserves to have a caring doula on their team.”
